For some countries (China, Germany, Denmark, UK, Spain, Russia, and Romania), the message recipient can reply to your message via a local gateway, and thus only pay domestic messaging charges themselves. Once you register your phone, any reply message that is received can be easily passed along into your account.

We Register Phones to Prevent SPAM

With Texts.com, we require you to register your mobile phone if you want to send or receive SMS text messages from your phone. By registering your phone, our system can recognize that an incoming message arriving at one of our gateways is trusted and contains information that is relevant to you. In other words, this prevents SPAM messages from costing you money and cluttering up your phone.

Within our messaging system, each incoming text message is identified by the phone number of the person who clicked ‘SEND’. If this phone is registered in our system, our technology will pass along the incoming text message on behalf of that account. Without such validation, we will treat the message as SPAM and throw it away.
