How to Send an International SMS from your Computer with Texts.com
- Create your Account – Create an account at Texts.com. They are free to set up. Click here to set up your international text messaging account.
- Try for Free – Send a test message to try the service.
- Add funds – Add money to your account to ensure that you have enough credits to send your text message.
- Register your phone (optional) – If you want to allow the recipient to reply to your message as though it was sent from a mobile phone, you first need to register your phone. This involves sending you a 5-digit code to the phone you registered. Once received, you have to enter this code into your account. - Write your Text Message – Say hello. Write a poem. Exclaim your love. Say you are OK. Provide your flight details. Text whatever you want, to whomever you want, whenever you want.
- Push Send – Once you have finished your 158-character masterpiece, simply push SEND and the message will be transmitted to a Texts.com Text Messaging Gateway.
How to Send an International SMS from your Mobile Phone with Texts.com
- Create your Account – Create an account at Texts.com. They are free to set up. Click here to set up your international text messaging account.
- Add funds – Add money to your account to ensure that you have enough credits to send your text message.
- Register your phone – To send an SMS from your mobile phone, iPhone, or BlackBerry, we require you to register the originating device within our network. This involves sending you a 5-digit code to the phone you registered. Once received, you have to enter this code into your account. - Choose your Gateway – We save you money on your international text messaging by passing your sent messages through the closest Texts.com Text Messaging Gateway. By using a gateway, your local messages are treated as though they were domestic messages (or uses cheaper international plans). An SMS gateway number is a dedicated, shared number that you use to send SMS Messages from your mobile phone. Your friends would also use the messaging gateway number to reply to your text message. - Create a Contact List (optional) – Texts.com allows you to create an address book of your friends and family with whom you communicate most often. This address book can be used to assign your own "short codes" so that you can reduce the amount of typing when you want to send email messages from your mobile phone. This short code can even be 1 or 2 characters (e.g. "b" for your brother)
- Write your Text Message – Say hello. Write a poem. Exclaim your love. Say you are OK. Provide your flight itinerary. Text whatever you want, to whomever you want, whenever you want. Make sure you prepend your message with the letter "s" as well as well as your short code. The "s" is a command to us that we are to relay the message as SMS to your short code. For example, your message might read, "s b How is mom doing? Does she want me to come home yet?"
- Push Send – Once you have finished your 158-character masterpiece, simply push SEND and the message will be transmitted to a Texts.com Text Messaging Gateway.
