Mobile Marketing Campaign Ideas
I just finished reading Mobile Marketer's "5 Steps to Creating a Dynamic Mobile Marketing Campaign", and I wanted to ensure that I shared it with readers here.
One of the important points that Kim Dushinski touches on in her writing is that when creating a mobile marketing campaign you must consider "What's in It for Them?" ... as in, what does the receiver of your mobile advertising get. Is it just a blatant, "Phil's rocks are great rocks, they're heavy and they don't break" sort of message? If it is, it is likely that your mobile marketing campaign will not have the effectiveness that you desire.
[ed. note: the quote about the 'rocks' was from a radio advertisement for YellowPages about 25 years ago under the campaign "It Pays to Advertise"... another line from the same spot was along the lines of "Come to Marty's Rock Warehouse -- free pebbles for the youngsters"... this was probably my first awareness of advertising and marketing. If anyone has an audio clip of this, I would appreciate a link.]
Marketing, regardless of the medium, has transformed in this age of mass media and mass advertising. Your marketing message needs to be highly relevant to your audience. Done properly, your audience will not view your mobile advertising as advertising at all. It will be useful content that provides the recipient with valuable information. Tap into this format, and you have a winning success in mobile marketing.
